BSC HomeConnect Providers
Technician and Service Company Terms
Effective date: August 24, 2026
1. Provider eligibility and acceptance
These Technician and Service Company Terms apply when you apply, receive approval, view or accept opportunities, contact homeowners, send estimates, schedule appointments, perform services, use billing features or otherwise act as a provider through BSC HomeConnect.
You represent that all application and account information is accurate and that you have authority to bind the identified business. Approval is discretionary and may be reviewed, restricted or withdrawn when reasonably necessary.
2. Independent business relationship
You operate as an independent contractor or independent service company. You are not an employee, agent, franchisee, partner or representative of BSC and may not claim otherwise.
You control the manner and means of your work and are solely responsible for personnel, tools, vehicles, materials, wages, taxes, insurance, permits, training, health and safety, and compliance obligations arising from your business.
3. Licensing, permits and legal compliance
Before accepting or performing a job, you must hold every licence, certification, registration, insurance policy, bond and permit required by the Canadian or U.S. federal, provincial, territorial, state and local laws applicable at the service location.
You must comply with all HVAC, refrigeration, gas, electrical, plumbing, building-code, environmental, consumer-protection, accessibility, employment, tax and occupational health-and-safety requirements that apply to the work. You must decline work you are not legally authorized or professionally competent to perform.
4. Matching and opportunities
BSC may match requests using service category, location, availability, status and other platform criteria. A match is an opportunity, not a promise of work, revenue, exclusivity, homeowner response or completed transaction.
You must review the available request information before accepting. Do not accept requests you cannot address promptly, safely, legally and professionally.
5. Pay-per-lead fees and invoices
When lead billing is enabled, the applicable fee and currency are displayed before you accept an opportunity. By selecting Accept, you authorize BSC to create the displayed lead charge. The fee is charged for access to and assignment of the opportunity, not as a guarantee that the homeowner will purchase services or that the job will be profitable.
BSC may change future lead prices, but a changed price applies only when displayed before a later acceptance. Charges may be grouped into invoices. You must pay valid invoices by their due dates and are responsible for applicable taxes. Disputed charges must be reported promptly with the request number and supporting explanation.
6. Homeowner communications and estimates
Use homeowner information only to respond to the assigned request and provide related service. Communicate professionally and protect personal, property and access information.
Estimates must be honest and sufficiently clear about scope, labour, materials, exclusions, price, currency, taxes, expiry, permits and warranties. Obtain homeowner approval before materially exceeding an accepted estimate, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety and permitted by law.
7. Appointments, performance and completion
Attend confirmed appointments or notify the homeowner promptly when rescheduling is necessary. Follow safe work practices, protect the property, respect occupants and comply with access restrictions.
Mark a job complete only when the agreed work is actually complete. Provide invoices, receipts, warranty details and legally required disclosures directly to the homeowner. You remain responsible for callbacks, deficiencies, damage, refunds and warranties arising from your services.
8. Reviews and platform integrity
Homeowners may submit genuine reviews after confirmed completion. BSC may moderate reviews for authenticity, safety, privacy and legal compliance, but does not guarantee a particular rating or remove a review merely because it is negative.
You must not buy, fabricate, manipulate, condition incentives on positive sentiment, retaliate for, threaten over, or improperly suppress a review. You may report a review you reasonably believe is fraudulent, unrelated, unlawful or inconsistent with platform rules.
9. Prohibited conduct
Do not misrepresent qualifications, licences, insurance, pricing or identity; share or sell homeowner data; harass or discriminate; evade valid platform charges; submit false records; interfere with security; scrape data; or use the platform for unlawful or unsafe activity.
You may not use BSC branding in a way that suggests employment, endorsement, ownership or authority to bind BSC.
10. Privacy, security and records
Protect account credentials and homeowner information using reasonable safeguards. Retain only records needed for the service, taxes, warranties, disputes and legal obligations, and securely dispose of unnecessary personal information.
You are independently responsible for privacy, marketing, call-recording, messaging and data-security laws that apply to your business and communications in each jurisdiction.
11. Suspension and termination
BSC may pause lead delivery, disable acceptance, suspend or terminate provider access when reasonably necessary because of expired credentials, safety concerns, complaints, fraud, unpaid invoices, legal risk, inactivity or a material breach of these Terms.
Termination does not eliminate valid lead charges, invoices, homeowner obligations, warranties, confidentiality duties or liabilities arising before termination.
12. Responsibility and platform limitations
You are responsible for your estimates, services, personnel, subcontractors, property damage, injuries, code compliance, warranties and dealings with homeowners. To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for claims and costs caused by your breach, negligence, misconduct or unlawful services.
BSC provides marketplace technology and does not guarantee lead volume, homeowner conduct, payment, job value, platform availability or business results. Nothing excludes an obligation or remedy that applicable law does not permit the parties to exclude.
13. Canada and United States law
These Terms are intended for providers serving locations across Canada and the United States. You must determine and follow every federal, provincial, territorial, state and local rule applicable to each service location and trade.
To the extent a choice of law is permitted, Ontario law and applicable Canadian federal law govern BSC's operation of the platform. This does not override mandatory licensing, consumer-protection, employment-classification, privacy, venue or other legal requirements that apply in the jurisdiction where you operate or perform services.
14. Changes and contact
BSC may update these Terms prospectively and will communicate material changes through the platform or another reasonable method. Continued provider use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
Questions, billing disputes, complaints and legal notices may be sent to homeconnect@bsctelemarketing.com.
