BSC HomeConnect

Homeowner Terms and Conditions

Effective date: August 24, 2026

These terms are a business draft for operation in Canada and the United States. They should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before full commercial use.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

These Homeowner Terms apply when you create a homeowner account, submit or claim a service request, respond to an estimate or appointment, communicate through BSC HomeConnect, confirm completion or submit a review.

You must be legally capable of entering a contract where you live and must provide accurate, current information. If you act for a property owner or occupant, you confirm that you have authority to request the service.

2. Marketplace role

BSC HomeConnect is a technology marketplace that facilitates introductions and workflow between homeowners and independent technicians or service companies. BSC does not perform HVAC or plumbing work, supervise the provider's methods, guarantee availability, or employ the provider.

Any agreement for diagnosis, labour, materials, permits, warranties, payment and on-site service is between you and the provider unless BSC expressly states otherwise in writing.

3. Service requests and emergencies

You must accurately describe the problem, property location, access conditions, urgency and relevant hazards. You are responsible for obtaining permission from the property owner when required.

BSC HomeConnect is not an emergency-response service. For gas leaks, fire, flooding that threatens safety, electrical danger, carbon-monoxide concerns, medical emergencies or another immediate threat, contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency service and utility provider.

4. Providers, licences and insurance

Provider approval means that BSC reviewed the application information available to it; it is not a guarantee of identity, licensing, insurance, workmanship, fitness, safety or legal compliance.

Before work begins, you should independently confirm the provider's identity, trade licence or certification, insurance, permits, references and qualifications required in the province, territory, state or locality where the work will occur.

5. Estimates, appointments and payment

An estimate is supplied by the provider. Review its scope, exclusions, price, currency, taxes, materials, validity period and warranty terms before accepting it. Conditions found during inspection may require a revised estimate that you may accept or decline.

Confirm appointments only when someone authorized can provide safe access. Unless the platform expressly provides a payment function, payment arrangements are made directly with the provider. BSC is not responsible for cash, card, financing, refund or warranty arrangements made outside the platform.

6. Completion, disputes and reviews

Confirm completion only after reviewing the work. Raise concerns promptly with the provider and preserve relevant estimates, invoices, photographs and communications.

Reviews must describe your genuine experience and must not be fake, misleading, discriminatory, threatening, defamatory, unlawful or disclose unnecessary personal information. BSC may moderate reviews for authenticity, safety, privacy and compliance, but will not suppress a review merely because it is negative.

7. Acceptable use and accounts

Do not misuse the platform, impersonate another person, submit fraudulent requests, interfere with security, scrape data, harass users, bypass platform safeguards or use contact information for an unrelated purpose.

You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and for activity under your account. Notify BSC promptly if you believe the account has been compromised.

8. Privacy and communications

BSC may collect, use and disclose information reasonably needed to operate the marketplace, match requests, facilitate service, prevent fraud, provide support, administer reviews and comply with law. Service-request details and contact information may be shared with matched or assigned providers.

Privacy rights vary by jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable Canadian or U.S. privacy law.

9. Availability and limitation of responsibility

The platform may occasionally be unavailable, delayed or contain errors. To the extent permitted by applicable law, BSC does not guarantee a provider match, response time, estimate, appointment, result or uninterrupted platform access.

BSC remains responsible for obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer remedies that applicable federal, provincial, territorial, state or local law does not permit BSC to exclude.

10. Suspension, changes and termination

BSC may restrict or close an account, cancel platform access or remove content when reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, non-payment, legal compliance or a material breach of these Terms.

BSC may update these Terms prospectively. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or another reasonable method. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

11. Canada and United States law

These Terms are intended for use across Canada and the United States. You and each provider must follow all federal, provincial, territorial, state and local laws that apply where the services are requested and performed.

To the extent a choice of law is permitted, Ontario law and applicable Canadian federal law govern BSC's operation of the platform. This choice does not remove mandatory consumer rights, venue rights or remedies available under the law of your province, territory, state or locality.

12. Contact

Questions, complaints and legal notices concerning BSC HomeConnect may be sent to homeconnect@bsctelemarketing.com. For workmanship, warranty, payment or on-site issues, contact the provider first and notify BSC if platform assistance is needed.
